What is Dough Holy Night?

Can you believe it? It’s almost here—Christmas is right around the corner!

There is so much joy surrounding this season, but there can also be a lot of chaos! There are decorations to put up and presents to purchase. It’s so easy to let the entire month of December fly past us and totally forget why we celebrate Christmas. That’s why we’re hosting “Dough Holy Night” this year.

This is a fun and interactive experience designed for your family to join us at home.

Together we’ll bake a batch of Christmas cookies and, along the way, hear the story of the very first Christmas. We’re live-streaming the entire experience so you can be with us every step of the way! It’s so simple!

Even though we may not all be able to be together, we want to share it as a community! So be sure to post pictures and videos of your kids in action, then tag us (#ColtonChurch) on Facebook. And don’t forget that Jesus is a gift worth sharing, so invite friends, neighbors, or family to enjoy the fun with you!

We hope and pray that this opportunity allows you to press pause on the busyness of the season and remember that Jesus is the sweetest part of Christmas.

Here’s three important things to do before Tuesday:

1)  Sign up below!

2)  Make sure to join the private Dough Holy Night Facebook group after signing up. We’ll be live-streaming from the group as well as giving any updates.

3)  check out the supply list below so you can bake cookies with us!

Merry Christmas!

    Ingredient List

    1 cup butter (softened)

    2 large eggs

    1 1⁄2 cups white sugar

    2 tsp vanilla extract

    1⁄2 cup sprinkles

    2 3⁄4 cups all-purpose flour

    1⁄4 tsp salt

    1 tsp baking soda

    2 tsp cream of tartar

Cream of tartar is often used to stabilize egg whites in recipes. If you don’t have cream of tartar, substitute an equal amount of lemon juice for the cream of tartar in your recipe.

Another good cream of tartar substitute apparently is 2 teaspoons baking powder. Skip the cream of tartar and the baking soda in the recipe you’re following for baking powder.
