Connect Groups

Life isn’t meant to be lived alone!
In fact, God designed us to live out our spiritual journeys together in community. We believe a primary way for people to become fully devoted followers of Christ, and to get connected with others from our Maranatha church family, is through our Connect Groups. And we believe that meeting together on a regular basis is not just time well spent … it is time well invested!
Connect Groups meet throughout the week for friendship, care, prayer, accountability, laughter, sharing stories and studying God’s Word. Participants are encouraged to live out the truths they discover in the Bible as they encourage others to do the same.
Want to get involved at Maranatha? Serve the community? Do life with people that are on a journey just like yours? Then becoming part of a Connect Group is your next step!
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)
WHAT ARE CONNECT GROUPS?
Our groups typically have 6-15 people and provide a comfortable place to build friendships, grow spiritually, live out the mission God has given us, and more. All of our groups use the same Bible-based curriculum which coincides with the topic/theme being covered in our weekend services. They meet at different times of the week and in all sorts of locations … even online!
Each quarter, Connect Groups choose a local mission/service opportunity in the community. We also have opportunities in our small groups to minister to one another to meet spiritual, physical, and emotional needs. In short, it is where we do life together.
HOW OFTEN DO CONNECT GROUPS MEET?
Once a week, for 90 minutes over 10-13 week sessions
WHEN/WHERE DO THEY MEET?
They meet at various days throughout the week in member homes or at the worship center, even restaurants and coffee shops, depending on the group. It is our hope that one of the groups we offer will meet your unique scheduling needs.
HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED?
The current list of small groups with meeting times is on our Welcome Table Saturday mornings. You can also contact the church office at (909) 8255-2933 or contact Pastor George directly.
WHAT DO THE GROUPS DO?
A typical group has several common activities: A time of socializing with food, Bible study, and prayer. In addition, the groups are strongly encouraged to include additional social gatherings and offer opportunities to serve together as a group.
WHO LEADS MY GROUP?
Connect Groups at Maranatha are led by people from every walk of life and from every season of life. Our leaders are usually folks who began as small group participants just like you, who grew to love the experience and wanted to reinvest in their community.
WHAT IS THE COST?
There is no cost to join or attend our groups. Some groups include a family-style meal or snacks, and members of those groups may be encouraged to bring something.
