We want Maranatha Community Church to be known as a generous church because we serve a God who has been so generous with us. We know that we are blessed so we can bless others. And our giving is a reflection of a generous heart full of faith, trust, and gratefulness.

We would ask that you prayerfully consider making a one-time or recurring gift as way to partner with us in helping people who are far from God find life in Jesus.

RECURRING GIVING

With the convenience of Recurring Giving you can establish a giving schedule that is both consistent and comfortable for your budget. You can set up automatic withdrawals either from your checking or savings account and at the desired frequency (i.e., weekly, monthly, etc.)

If you prefer, you can still give during one of our weekend services by filling out a giving envelope located at the back of the worship center and placing it in the offering container. You can use this envelope to give by cash or check.

At Maranatha we practice tithing for the support of Christ’s Body, the church, as God commands. We recognize that giving 10% of our income is only a minimal Biblical standard of giving. While Christians are not required under a “legal” obligation to give a tithe, they are expected to support God’s work. An offering is that which is freely given by Christians to the work of the Lord, the local church, and/or ministries and missions.

Tithing is instituted in the Old Testament, practiced in the New Testament, and endorsed by Jesus, Himself (Matthew 23:23). Therefore we hold giving to be an important practice of every Christian. While giving is not an action undertaken to try and “buy a blessing” from God, the Bible makes clear that the faithful giver can expect a harvest in return.

The giving of tithes and offerings is worship to Jesus Christ and is an expression of the relationship between the individual giver and the Lord. Funds are not “income” only, they are worship, and must not be considered as a business transaction, but as an expression of gratitude toward God. Also, giving is foundational to the nature of God, therefore a believer cannot be like Jesus without being a sacrificial giver.

Finally, we must remember that offerings are far more than simply the check we write on Saturdays. We are to offer much more to God than our monetary resources. Romans 12:1 exhorts us to offer our bodies “as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God” as part of our worship. He is not nearly as interested in our monetary offerings as He is in our submission and obedience.
